Fun with Friends

Fun photos from The Cirque Day, Tuesday, June 16th. Our class dressed up in bright colors and others dressed in colorful leggings trimmed with frilly collars, bright socks and shoes. We had a lot of fun and took the photos after the class. The class dresses up from time to time: Valentines Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, July 4th, Halloween, and Christmas. We even did a bride’s day for a member who just got married. I have been a part of this health center for more than 12 years now. While we do participate in various benefits including stair climbs and runs, to raise money for cancer research and other diseases, this day was all about fun with friends!

It’s Raining Cats and Dogs

Artistic Adventures: Gallery Event, Rolling Hills

Join us for an upcoming art show at the Artists Studio Gallery in the Rolling Hills shopping center. This event will run from Saturday, February 21 (3pm) until Sunday, March 29 (7pm).

The featured artists will include myself (Beverly Holman: 3-D assemblage art), Joyce Welsh (water colors) and Don Crocker (recognized pleinair oil painter). On February 28th a demonstration will be held at the gallery conducted by all three artists. Each of the artists will explain some of their techniques.

I will be spotlighting the following assemblage art pieces, among others, at this event:

Art through Words | Steampunk Poem

That was my response when the following poem was recited (written by Shel Silverstein) during an art class at the Torrance Adult Center in California. This wonderful poem, in my opinion, can be a metaphor for assemblage and steampunk art.

Artistic License Fair – Here we come!

If you are in Southern California and love art, you will certainly enjoy the upcoming Artistic License Fair in Costa Mesa. Scheduled for October 24-25th, this fair is designed to spotlight unique, fun and contemporary “one of a kind” art. What is more unique, contemporary and fun than Steampunk Art?

Join me and the other artists in this beautiful setting!

The displays of artisans will include jewelry, clothing, home decor and much more. Prior to being in Southern California, this fair was held in Denver for decades. However, due to circumstances (and to our delight) it is now located in sunny Southern California.
